Job Description of Support Worker
Dortripat Care is a semi-independent Home that provides Care and Support for people with Acquired Brain Injuries, Strokes, and other Life-Limiting illnesses. You will be supporting individuals to live fulfilled lives and to also provide Care. You would be assisting them in adapting to their conditions and taking part in their favourite activities. The role of a Support Worker:
- Provide support with all care, and with any medical needs.
- Encourage the people in our care to learn to adapt to their conditions and develop their confidence.
- Promote independence, choice, and control.
- Work as part of a team of Support Workers to ensure the best care is given to everyone in the home.
- To monitor the physical and mental wellbeing of the people in our care and to report any concerns or changes.
- Take part in regular team meetings and to communicate within the Team.
- To take people to medical appointments and help them access the local and wider community
Hours for work: Full Time – 37.5 hours a week
Pay: £11.03 per hour
What we require from you to be a successful applicant:
- Knowledge or experience of Care and Acquired Brain Injury.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Be fully flexible across the hours and days of work.
- To be able to work within a Team and be a team player.
- To be able to work under pressure and deal with potentially very challenging situations.
